Acklins Island, Bahamas

Acklins Island is in the southern Bahamas, about a one-hour plane flight from Nassau. With a population of around 400 people, it is one of the most undeveloped, remote and beautiful islands in the Caribbean. There are many miles of unpressured flats and creeks on the bight (inside) of the island, where you will find bonefish and barracuda, often in knee to ankle-deep water. And on the Atlantic side, there are beautiful beaches and protected coves, where you’ll find good fishing for bones, barracuda, jacks and other reef fish.

Hosted trips are based out of Ivel’s Bonefish Lodge / Golden Grove Villas, which are adjacent properties located on the water near Mason’s Bay, just a few miles north of Spring Point Airport. This is a new complex which has A/C, Wi-Fi and a modern reverse osmosis system that supplies unlimited fresh water. A traditional American breakfast is served each morning in the main lodge. Lunch is packed to take on the water and includes a sandwich (or two), fruit, chips, snacks and drinks. And the dinner menu includes chicken, ribs, locally caught seafood and traditional Bahamian fixings.

Trip packages include 7 nights lodging (double occupancy in a private room), 5 days of guided fishing, all meals, taxes, transfers and non-alcoholic drinks.  A vehicle will be available on your DIY angling day. Single anglers are welcome and will be paired-up with other singles when possible. Please fill out the form below to receive information on pricing, trip dates, etc.

There are only 2 flights into Acklins Island each week, and they depart from Nassau on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. So in order to catch our flight, an overnight stay in Nassau is required. Nassau expenses and flights are not included in this package.
