Introduction to Fly Fishing is an eight-hour class designed to get you solidly grounded in the fundamentals needed to enjoy fly fishing. The following topics are included in the curriculum.
The Theory of Fly Fishing
Equipment Selection and Tackle Assembly
Knots and Line Connections
Fundamentals of Fly Casting
Fish Foods and Their Imitations
Entomology as it Relates to Fly Selection
Fly Fishing Strategies
Wading and Safety
After completing this class, you should have all the skills and understanding needed to catch fish with a fly rod. I offer this class as a full-day session that runs from 9am to 3:30pm. Cost is $125 per student. My next Introduction to Fly Fishing class will be held in Orono Maine on Saturday April 5 2025.
