Acklins Island has an excellent road system with accessible flats and a healthy population of unpressured bonefish. It is one of the southern-most islands in the Bahamas, so cold fronts and iffy winter weather is much less of a problem here than islands farther north. Acklins is a quiet island with little development and about 400 permanent residents. People come here to fish, snorkel, sunbathe and swim. So if you want to get away from it all, this is the place.
Most of the traditional bonefish flats are located within a fairly short walk from the road on the western (bight) side of the island. The east (Atlantic) side has a number of beautiful sandy beaches and protected coves that provide opportunities to catch barracuda, jacks, sharks, and reef fish, along with the bones.
Ivel’s Lodge is centrally located on the water at Mason’s Bay, a few miles north of the Spring Point Airport. Productive bonefish flats and several blue holes are located within a two-minute drive from your doorstep. A motivated DIY angler can fish a new spot every day for a week and barely scratch the surface of the opportunities that are available.
Ivel’s Lodge and the adjacent property (Golden Grove Villas) is a new complex which has A/C, Wi-Fi and satellite TV in each room, and a modern reverse osmosis system that supplies unlimited fresh water. Meals can be taken at the lodge or you can cook your own. All packages include a vehicle!
Booking your trip with me costs exactly the same amount as booking directly with the lodge. But when you book with me, you will receive friendly, personal attention. And I will explain the nuances of travelling to Acklins and provide you with fishing information that will point you to some of my favorite fishing locations. DIY doesn’t mean that you’re roughing it or shooting blind.
Each package listed below includes 7 nights of oceanfront lodging, all meals, taxes, transfers, non-alcoholic drinks, and a vehicle. One of the advantages of DIY trips is that they can be tailored to your group’s size, available dates and needs. So if one of these packages doesn’t fit your needs, other arrangements can be made.

Terms and Conditions
A deposit of 50% is required within 15 days of booking to confirm a reservation. The balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. Deposit is refundable, less a $200 per person processing fee, if written cancellation is received at least 90 days prior to the trip. A 50% refund will be made if written cancellation is received 31-89 days prior to the trip, and no refund will be made if written cancellation is received 30 days or less prior to the trip, unless a substitute angler is found, in which case a full refund will be made less a $200 per person processing fee. In rare instances with cancellations inside of 90 days, we are able to issue credit to be used for a future trip to the same lodge. In this instance, there is a $300 per person processing fee. Credits are issued at the sole discretion of Tracewski Fishing Adventures. Receipt of deposit is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the cancellation/refund and responsibility clauses.
Because many deposits and final payments for trip packages may be non-refundable (see above,) it is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance in the event that you have to cancel, postpone or reschedule your trip for any reason. This is the only way that we can assist you with compensation for a canceled trip. For more information, or for assistance in purchasing trip insurance, please contact Tracewski Fishing Adventures.
