Landlocked Salmon Fishing Maine

Many anglers (myself included) consider landlocked salmon to be the signature fish of Maine.  We have a greater number, and wider variety, of landlocked salmon waters than anywhere else in the country.  And these hard-fighting, acrobatic fish are tailor-made for pursuing with a fly rod.

Landlocked salmon are one of the feature fish of Tracewski Fishing Adventures.  We wade more than a half dozen different rivers and streams, and use my Hyde drift boat to float several others.  May, June and September are the best times to schedule a salmon fishing trip, because these months usually provide ideal water temperatures and flows.  They also coincide with three peaks in salmon activity that are associated with smelt runs (May), insect hatches (June), and spawning (September).

Full day float or wade trips cost $500 and are designed to accommodate two anglers.  Half-day trips are available on some waters and cost $350.  I am affiliated with several top lodges and offer packages that include a comfortable waterfront cabin, meals, etc.  Because of travel time and logistics, salmon fishing trips to some locations have a two-day minimum. I fish a lot of different salmon waters, so developing custom itineraries is one of my specialties.
