Tail Inn Lodge, Mexico

The Tail-Inn Lodge is located within the 1.3 million acre Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, on a beautiful Caribbean beach in the southernmost part of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.  From the lodge, it’s a short boat ride to the wilderness flats, creeks and backcountry lagoons of Espiritu Santo Bay (ESB), which provides some of the best shallow-water, sight-fishing opportunities in Latin America.  Anglers will encounter healthy, unpressured populations of bonefish, permit, juvenile tarpon, barracuda, jacks and snook.  And the lodge’s 2:1 guide to client ratio helps to provide a realistic opportunity at a grand slam nearly every day.

The lodge has 6 double or single occupancy rooms that can accommodate up to 12 guests.  And despite being remote, amenities include air conditioning, high-speed internet, purified water and private baths. The operation is run by Saul Loya and his family, who have lived in Punta Herrero for generations and take great pride in hosting anglers from around the world.

The fishing day begins with a hearty traditional American breakfast served with a Mexican flair at 7am.   Lunches are eaten on-the-water and usually consist of sandwiches, chips, fruit and a sweet.  Then after returning from fishing and maybe taking a quick nap, the evening starts with Happy Hour drinks and snacks, followed by scrumptious dinners that feature local and family recipes.

Trip packages include 7 nights lodging, 6 days of guided fishing, all meals, taxes, transfers and some alcoholic drinks.  Please fill out the form below to receive information on pricing, trip dates, etc.

Single anglers are welcome and will be paired-up with other singles when possible. The most convenient flight is into the new Tulum airport, where we will be met by a shuttle vehicle from the lodge.
