Ice fishing in terrible weather is not an enjoyable experience. And I’m not willing to take chances on iffy ice. So if the weather forecast on the day of your trip calls for frigid temperatures, gale-force winds, or a blizzard, I will cancel your trip and return your deposit. The same holds true if ice conditions are unsafe. Safety and your physical well-being are my top priority.
Ice fishing is a physically demanding activity that involves lots of loading, hauling, and set up and teardown of gear. So if you come on a trip, it would be great if you could pitch-in and help out a bit with these activities.
I will provide snowmobiles (when appropriate), a shelter, ice fishing and cooking gear and bait. You will need a Maine fishing license and reasonably good winter gear and boots. We can discuss all of these things in more detail on the lead up to your trip.
