Weather, Ice Conditions, And Ice Fishing Reality

Sunk Sled

Ice fishing when the weather is bad is not an enjoyable experience.  And I’m not willing to take chances on iffy ice. So if the weather forecast on the day of your trip calls for frigid temperatures, high winds, or a snow or rain storm, I will cancel your trip and return your deposit. The same holds true if ice conditions are marginal, or if the lake is slushy.  If you are looking for a hard-core ice fishing experience, I am not your guy.

Eskimo Ice ShackIce fishing is a physically demanding activity that involves lots of loading, hauling, and set up and teardown of gear. So if you come on a trip, you will be asked/expected to help out with these activities. Cooking on the IceBack to back dawn to dark fishing days are also physically tough. So I really like to build an off day into your itinerary, or do a later start on Day 2.

I will provide two snowmobiles, a shelter, all the ice fishing gear and bait, along with all the cooking gear. You will be asked to provide the lunch. We can discuss all of these things in detail on the lead up to your trip.
