Intro to Fly Fishing

Maine Fly Fishing Class

Introduction to Fly Fishing is an eight-hour class designed to get you solidly grounded in the fundamentals needed to enjoy fly fishing.  The following topics are included in the curriculum.

The Theory of Fly Fishing

Equipment Selection and Tackle Assembly

Knots and Line Connections

Fundamentals of Fly Casting

Fish Foods and Their Imitations

Entomology as it Relates to Fly Selection

Fly Fishing Strategies

Wading and Safety

After completing this class, you should have all the skills and understanding needed to catch fish with a fly rod.  I offer this class in a full-day session that runs from 9am to 4pm.  Cost is $85 per student. Unfortunately, the dates for my scheduled 2017 Introduction to Fly Fishing classes have already past, so if you are interested taking this class on your own in 2017, or just want more information, please contact me and we can work out an itinerary that will fit your schedule.
